NRNA NCC Facilitates Safe Repatriation of 51 Nepali Migrants from Cambodia

In recent months, the rise of fraudulent job networks and scam centers in parts of Cambodia and Myanmar has put multiple nationalities, including Nepali migrants, at serious risk. Lured by promises of attractive employment opportunities, many individuals found themselves trapped in exploitative and unsafe conditions. In such critical situations, timely intervention and coordinated support become essential, and this is where the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Committee has played a crucial role.

NRNA, through its national coordination committees and in close collaboration with diplomatic missions and partner organizations, has been actively working to ensure the safety and repatriation of affected Nepali citizens. These efforts go beyond emergency response; they reflect a deep commitment to protecting the dignity, rights, and well-being of Nepalis abroad.

A recent example of this collective effort was witnessed on March 24, 2026. In coordination with the Nepal Embassy in Thailand, NRNA NCC Cambodia, and GDI Cambodia, a total of 51 Nepali nationals were successfully and safely repatriated to Nepal. This operation required strong coordination, logistical planning, and continuous communication among stakeholders to ensure a smooth and secure return process.

Such initiatives highlight the importance of partnership and trust. The role of NRNA has been instrumental not only in identifying and reaching out to affected individuals but also in facilitating dialogue with authorities, providing necessary support, and ensuring that migrants are not left alone in times of crisis.

At the same time, this situation serves as a reminder of the need for increased awareness and preventive measures. Prospective migrants/job seekers must be better informed about the risks of fraudulent recruitment and the importance of verifying job offers through official and trusted channels.

NRNA remains committed to strengthening its efforts in migrant protection, advocacy, and support services. The safe return of every Nepali citizen is not just a responsibility; it is a shared mission rooted in solidarity and care for our global community.

As we welcome those who have returned, we extend our heartfelt wishes for their safe reintegration and a hopeful new beginning. I also sincerely urge job seekers and prospective migrants to remain cautious and avoid fraudulent opportunities and scam jobs.

Thank you, NRNA NCC Cambodia Family
