The Tragic Incident of Dadeldhura, Leopard Killed the People & People Killed a Leopard
Since the last five years, the Human- Tiger/Leopard- Conflict HTC incidents have been increasing frequently in the Far-western region, especially in the Baitadi and Dadeldhura have been terrorized by a tiger that has killed about 25 children. This is the high numbers compared to the reported data of conflict and death reports from 1994. There are major questions to the concerned agencies, researchers, and experts. Why is HTC increasing in a particular area ?? And what are the preventive measures that should be in place to reduce and prevent the HTC incidents ?? Are they in place? There are many questions at the micro-level regarding preventive measures, legal provisions, issues, and challenges at the local level. The data shows it should be in-depth discussed and an integrated action plan should be formulated and implemented in the risky zone by the local government.
